This is a short one, but it’ll can make a HUGE difference in your website conversions.
I’m going to bet that you want people to stay, browse and buy from your website. I’m also going to guess that you have a few things live on your site now that accomplish the very opposite of this goal.
The good news? It’ll only take you a hot minute to remove them.
The bad news? You’ll have to remove the mental block and silence all the outside noise that dictates that you need them.
The secret offender and repellor of sales? Prominently displayed social media icons.
If you have a strong social media presence that actually brings in sales, I encourage you to keep at it. But if you feel like many of my clients do, which is that social media is more of an investment in time, money, and energy than it’s worth, then put your precious resources where it counts — on a platform you own. Then lead them to a place where you can ensure you reach them – your email list. Click here to read about the staggering ROI of email marketing.
It’ll take you just a minute to move or remove the social media icons on your website to a place or page that is less prominent. I know your designer likely recommended you have them, but if you want to engage people to learn more about you, and book your services, you can’t give them a quick out.
The shiny object syndrome is real, and people will do anything to be distracted. Don’t give them that distraction!
If you want to get them to browse and buy from your website, focus on this instead:
- great copy that speaks to them
- a beautiful and functional design
- high-quality visuals and video so you satisfy their need for entertainment
- a compelling call-to-action that serves your business goals, not the algorithm
If you’re skeptical, just try it out and compare the data. I’d love to hear about the increase in engagement and sales calls you book with this new strategy!
